Indian Envoy Visits Injured Indians After Kuwait Airport Attack

Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Paramita Tripathi visited injured Indian nationals and the Central Mortuary in Kuwait after one Indian citizen was killed and 13 others were injured in the Kuwait airport attack, Indian officials said.

The attack took place at Terminal 1 of Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said one Indian national died in the incident, while several Indian citizens were injured. Officials said on Thursday, June 4, 2026, that 13 Indian nationals were receiving treatment at hospitals in Kuwait.

Indian Envoy Visits Hospitals and Mortuary in Kuwait

India’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, visited the Central Mortuary in Kuwait, where the mortal remains of the deceased Indian national had been taken. She said the Embassy of India in Kuwait was in contact with the victim’s family and coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities for the early transportation of the remains.

Tripathi also visited injured Indian nationals in hospitals, spoke with them and assured them that the embassy would provide assistance during their treatment and recovery.

MEA Says Embassy Is Coordinating With Kuwait Authorities

Aseem R. Mahajan, Additional Secretary for the Gulf at the Ministry of External Affairs, said during an inter-ministerial briefing in New Delhi on Thursday, June 4, 2026, that the Indian mission in Kuwait was closely coordinating with local authorities.

Mahajan said the mortal remains were expected to arrive in India on Friday, June 5, 2026. He added that Indian missions in the region were engaging with resident Indian community associations, professional groups, organizations and Indian companies to address concerns amid wider West Asia tensions.

Iran’s IRGC Denies Role in Kuwait Airport Strike

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps denied involvement in the Kuwait airport attack. The IRGC said its Aerospace Force did not target the civilian airport and claimed the damage was caused by a malfunction involving the U.S.-made Patriot missile defense system.

The incident caused extensive damage to Passenger Terminal 1, killed one person and injured 63 others overall, according to information provided by authorities.

For Indian families and the wider Indian diaspora in the Gulf, the update now centers on embassy support, medical assistance for the injured, and the return of the deceased citizen’s remains to India.
