The majority of Livermore residents are satisfied with their quality of life, according to the results of the 2025 National Community Survey. The survey, conducted by the National Research Center at Polco, randomly selected 3,000 households in Livermore, with 374 responding. The results were carefully weighted to ensure diversity across age, gender, race, ethnicity, housing status, and geography.
According to the findings, 95% of residents expressed satisfaction with living in Livermore, and 91% praised the overall quality of life in the city. The natural environment earned particularly high marks, with another 91% noting satisfaction in that area. Similarly, 87% approved of the availability of walking trails and paths, and another 87% enjoyed the vibrancy of the downtown and commercial areas. Safety was another strong point, with 83% of respondents reporting a general sense of security.
When it came to Livermore as a travel destination, 86% expressed satisfaction, signaling that the city’s charm resonates not only with locals but visitors as well. These ratings are either consistent with or better than national benchmarks, showing that Livermore continues to rank high in areas that matter to day-to-day life.
While most residents are happy with where they live, satisfaction with the local government did not score as highly. Only 60% felt they received good value for their tax dollars, and the same percentage supported the city’s overall direction. In terms of government transparency and communication, just 53% said the city was open and transparent, and only 50% felt adequately informed about community issues. Additionally, 61% said the city does a good job welcoming resident involvement.
Still, these numbers are in line with or slightly above the national average, indicating that while there is room for improvement, Livermore’s government is performing on par with other cities. One encouraging trend was in economic perception satisfaction with Livermore’s economic outlook rose by 15% since 2022. Approval for business variety also increased by 9%, and community connection metrics improved by 8%, suggesting that the city is moving in a positive direction, especially in terms of economic development and civic engagement. Livermore’s continued focus on quality of life, public spaces, and urban vibrancy appears to be paying off, even as city officials work to build more trust and transparency with the community.
