Dubai Emirates Road Minibus Crash Kills Seven Indian Workers

Dubai, UAE — Seven Indian workers were killed in a Dubai Emirates Road minibus crash on Monday, June 8, 2026, after their vehicle hit a truck that had stopped on the road because of a reported technical fault, authorities said.

Nine other workers were injured in the crash, including five with serious injuries and four with moderate injuries. Officials said all injured workers were taken to a hospital for treatment. No confirmed time for the crash was released.

Dubai Emirates Road Minibus Crash Under Investigation

Dubai Police said preliminary findings showed the truck had stopped suddenly in the middle of Emirates Road due to a technical malfunction. Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said the minibus driver allegedly failed to pay attention and maintain a safe distance before the vehicle struck the truck from behind.

Traffic accident investigators were sent to the scene to collect evidence and determine the exact cause of the crash. Police patrols secured the area, managed traffic flow and helped rescue teams reach the site. Work crews later removed the damaged vehicles so normal traffic movement could resume.

Indian Consulate Assists Injured Workers

The Indian Consulate in Dubai expressed grief over the deaths and said its officials visited the hospital to meet the injured Indian nationals. The consulate said it was working with local authorities to provide assistance and support to the victims and their families.

The fatal crash has renewed attention on worker transport safety, vehicle breakdown risks and the importance of maintaining safe following distance on major Dubai highways used by commercial and labor transport vehicles.
