Amid the backdrop of heightened military tensions between India and Pakistan, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reiterated India’s commitment to a measured and responsible response. Following a call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Jaishankar emphasized that India's policy remains focused on peace and strategic restraint under the framework of Operation Sindoor, India's ongoing diplomatic and defense posture in the region.

"Had a conversation with US @SecRubio this morning. India's approach has always been measured and responsible and remains so," Jaishankar shared on social media. His remarks come as both countries continue to engage in cross-border retaliatory strikes, with the risk of escalation growing.

The US State Department confirmed that Secretary Rubio stressed the urgent need for both nations to de-escalate and re-establish direct channels of communication to avoid any misjudgments. The US also expressed support for Operation Sindoor and India's leadership in promoting stability, offering to assist in diplomatic efforts aimed at defusing further conflict.
