Miss World 2025: Voices of change – powerful speeches kick off head-to-head challenge event

The 72nd Miss World Festival’s Head-to-Head Challenge kicked off today at T-Hub, Hyderabad’s renowned innovation and entrepreneurship hub. This pivotal event, which is live-streamed globally on YouTube, provides a platform for the contestants to showcase their Beauty with a Purpose initiatives, which lie at the heart of Miss World’s mission to empower women through charitable projects and community-driven endeavors. This segment of the competition focuses on the intelligence, compassion, and social awareness of the contestants, giving them an opportunity to share their impactful work and vision for a better world.

The contestants from the Americas, Caribbean, and Africa delivered deeply moving presentations, each highlighting important societal issues they aim to address through their Beauty with a Purpose projects. Miss Uganda passionately advocated for autism awareness, stressing the importance of early intervention programs, inclusive education, and increased societal understanding for children on the spectrum and their families. Miss Kenya powerfully addressed the issue of sexual abuse, advocating for survivor support, safe spaces, and educational reforms to create a more just and inclusive society.

Miss Mauritius introduced her initiative Bridges of Ability, focusing on providing equal opportunities for people with disabilities, promoting inclusivity, accessibility, and dignity. Miss Chile spoke about elderly empowerment, sharing personal anecdotes about her grandparents and emphasizing the need to support senior citizens through wellness programs, intergenerational dialogue, and policy reforms. Miss Zimbabwe raised awareness about mental health, focusing on suicide prevention and creating safe spaces for emotional support and healing in vulnerable communities.

These impactful presentations not only highlighted the contestants' leadership and commitment to social change but also reinforced the Miss World platform’s broader mission—beauty, purpose, leadership, and global awareness. The challenge marked an essential milestone for the contestants, as the young women with the most compelling speeches will advance to the next round of the competition, inching closer to the coveted Miss World crown. Tomorrow, Day 2 of the Head-to-Head Challenge will feature contestants from Europe, Asia, and Oceania, continuing the celebration of global issues, empowerment, and change.
