A new wave of indoor entertainment is coming to the Chicago suburbs as Slick City, billed as the world’s first indoor slide park, is set to open its second Illinois location in Orland Park next week.
The park, located at 66 Orland Square Drive, will host its grand opening event on Thursday, October 16, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The celebration will feature a live DJ, face painting, giveaways, and special promotions for attendees. According to the company, the event marks another milestone in the brand’s rapid national expansion.
Slick City has gained attention for offering a unique twist on traditional indoor amusement centers, replacing trampolines and rides with massive dry slides designed for both kids and adults. The new Orland Park location will take over the former site of Gizmo’s Fun Factory, an indoor arcade and activity zone that closed earlier this year for renovations.
According to the company’s website, the Orland Park facility will include many of the same popular attractions featured in the Aurora location, such as the “Fast Lane,” “Big Wave,” and “Cowabunga” slides. The park will also feature air courts for sports, a play zone for younger children, and laser tag areas.
Tickets for the Orland Park location are priced at $25.99 for 90 minutes of general admission play, while junior tickets for children aged three and under start at $13.99. Slick City’s website also lists various programming options, including a “Little Sliders Club” designed for children seven years old and younger, and adult-only nights catering to older visitors seeking a different experience.
The park’s management has yet to confirm its regular operating hours following the grand opening, but visitors are encouraged to check the company’s official website and social media channels for updates.
Slick City’s expansion in Illinois comes amid growing demand for year-round family entertainment options that combine physical activity with indoor comfort. The company currently operates 16 parks across the United States, with 40 additional locations under construction. Future openings include sites in Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, Mesa (Arizona), and Springdale (Ohio), several of which are expected to open in the next year.
The Aurora location, which opened last year, has drawn large crowds for its combination of high-energy attractions and family-oriented amenities. With the Orland Park addition, Slick City hopes to build on that success by offering a larger venue and new features designed for both thrill-seekers and families.
Company representatives say their goal is to provide safe, active, and memorable experiences for guests of all ages. The brand’s expansion reflects a broader trend of indoor entertainment venues reinventing playtime with modern, activity-driven concepts that cater to children, parents, and groups alike.
As the countdown to opening day begins, excitement continues to build in Orland Park for the arrival of the newest addition to the region’s family entertainment scene — a place where slides replace rides, and fun comes at full speed, all year long.
