Actor Vinod Suryavanshi, who gained recognition for playing the new Sachiv Ji in the popular web series Panchayat, has spoken about the challenges he faced growing up, including caste discrimination and repeated rejection in the entertainment industry.

In a recent conversation, Suryavanshi shared that caste-based divisions still exist in his village in Karnataka. He revealed that different communities continue to live separately, and certain social restrictions remain in place. Recalling a childhood experience, he mentioned that he had to follow practices that highlighted these divisions, which left a lasting impression on him.

The actor also spoke about facing bias due to his appearance while trying to build a career in television and films. He said that he was rejected in several auditions because he did not fit the expected “look” for certain roles. Even when considered for smaller parts, he often found himself overlooked due to unrealistic casting expectations.

Suryavanshi recalled one particular instance where he was selected for a role but later replaced because the makers preferred someone with a different appearance. Despite these setbacks, he continued to pursue acting with determination.

Talking about his early life, he shared that his childhood was marked by financial struggles. His mother worked as a domestic helper, while his father, a mason, did not have consistent work. He also spoke about the difficult environment at home, which shaped his outlook on life and motivated him to create a better future for himself.

From working as a security guard to becoming a junior artist and eventually landing roles in well-known projects, Suryavanshi’s journey reflects perseverance and resilience.

His performance in Panchayat, though brief, received appreciation from viewers. The series, known for its realistic storytelling, features actors like Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, and Raghubir Yadav, and continues to be one of the most loved shows in the Indian OTT space.
