Ram Mandir Donation Records Under SIT Scanner Over Missing 60 kg Silver
Ayodhya, June 20, 2026: The ongoing probe into alleged irregularities in Ram Mandir donation records has widened after 60 kg of silver bars donated during the consecration ceremony were reportedly found missing from official records.
The silver bars were said to have been offered to Ram Lalla during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony and were expected to be documented as part of the temple offerings. Investigators are now trying to verify the receipt, storage, and current status of the silver.
Ayodhya Temple Donation Probe Widens
A Special Investigation Team is examining records linked to cash, jewellery, and other valuables donated to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The team is reviewing how precious offerings were received, recorded, stored, and later used.
The latest focus is on the 60 kg silver bars reportedly donated by members of a jewellers’ association. The association has claimed that it has proof of handover, while investigators are trying to match that claim with official temple records.
Questions Raised Over Missing Silver Entries
The missing entries have raised questions about the system used to manage high-value donations at the temple. Investigators are looking into whether the silver bars were properly entered in the inventory and whether there is a clear trail showing where they were kept.
Officials have also questioned people connected with the handling of offerings, including priests and those involved in managing jewellery and donation records.
SIT Reviews Donation Handling System
The probe began after allegations surfaced that valuables and donations offered at the temple had not been properly accounted for. The inquiry is also looking into claims related to gold, silver, diamond ornaments, and cash donations.
The Uttar Pradesh government formed a three-member SIT after a request from the temple trust. The team is expected to examine documents, statements, donation records, and procedures before concluding.
Temple Trust Seeks Clarity
The temple trust has sought an inquiry, and the final findings of the SIT are awaited. Officials are expected to verify whether the reported missing silver was misplaced, wrongly recorded, used for temple-related work, or involved in any larger irregularity.
For now, the matter remains under investigation, and no conclusion has been announced by the SIT.
Political Reactions Follow Probe
The issue has also triggered a political debate, with opposition leaders questioning the handling of temple donations. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has defended the inquiry process and urged people to wait for the SIT findings before concluding.
The investigation is still underway. Until the SIT submits its report, the case remains a matter of inquiry rather than a proven charge.
