The Tirumala laddu controversy has once again gained political momentum in Andhra Pradesh, with Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena Party president Pawan Kalyan taking a strong stand on the issue. The Janasena leader has been facing sustained criticism from the YSR Congress Party over the matter, prompting him to respond forcefully during a recent interaction with party MLAs and representatives.
During the meeting, Pawan Kalyan made sharp remarks about the alleged mismanagement of Tirumala affairs during the previous YSRCP regime. He expressed serious concern over reports suggesting that chemical substances were used in the preparation of the sacred Tirumala laddus. Calling it a betrayal of public trust, Kalyan stated that such actions not only harmed the sentiments of devotees but also posed potential health risks to pilgrims visiting the holy shrine.
Pawan Kalyan reportedly instructed Janasena MLAs to ensure that the Tirumala laddu issue is discussed extensively in the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly sessions. He emphasized that the matter should be taken directly to the public through legislative debate and transparency. According to him, the alleged use of harmful substances in laddu preparation is a serious issue that deserves detailed scrutiny and accountability.
The Deputy Chief Minister further alleged that the YSR Congress Party is now reacting aggressively due to the rapid developments taking place in the state after the change in government. He claimed that the opposition is unable to digest the progress being made and is therefore targeting Janasena and its leadership to divert public attention.
With Pawan Kalyan himself highlighting the issue, political observers believe that the Tirumala laddu controversy will become a major focal point during the upcoming Assembly session. Several aspects related to Tirumala management, administrative lapses, and accountability of the previous government are expected to be debated, potentially putting the YSRCP on the defensive.
Separately, Janasena representatives also raised concerns about the Railway Koduru MLA incident during the meeting. They reportedly urged Pawan Kalyan to take a final call after the concerned MLA presents his explanation before the internal committee formed to investigate the matter. The leadership is said to be keen on following due process before arriving at any conclusion.
