Sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, wife of Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, recently opened up about the lighter side of their relationship and how her husband often playfully disrupts her professional composure during interviews. Speaking on the ‘Moment of Silence’ podcast, Sanjana shared candid moments from their personal and professional lives, including a memorable post-match interview after India’s T20 World Cup win over South Africa.
She explained that Bumrah enjoys teasing her during interviews to make her break character. “He can tell from my face when I’m focusing too hard, and he’ll smile, wink, or do something funny just to distract me. I’m like, this is not going to work,” she said with a laugh.
The couple welcomed their son Angad in September 2023, and Sanjana believes the experience has changed Bumrah for the better. “I don’t want to say it, but I think he’s become a better cricketer after Angad came into our lives,” she said, adding that the peaceful home environment helps him recharge.
Sanjana also shared a glimpse into their off-camera life, calling Bumrah her “best gossip buddy.” The pair often unwind with chocolate and Netflix at the end of the day, sharing stories from work.
When asked about the wives of other cricketers, Sanjana said each has a unique personality suited to their partner. “It’s like yin and yang. You meet the wives and go this is exactly what this guy needed,” she reflected. The couple, who married in 2021, continue to balance their public roles with a private life rooted in mutual respect, humor, and companionship.
