Once the required number of MPs stood up in support, the resolution was accepted for discussion. Congress' Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi then initiated the debate, with 10 hours allocated for the discussion. The matter of who would preside over the debate on the speaker's removal continued to stir tensions, as the resolution was set to be debated further in the Lok Sabha.
