Sonia Gandhi Hospitalized in Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital After Feeling Unwell

Sonia Gandhi, the senior Congress leader, was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi after feeling unwell, according to sources on March 25, 2026. Both of her children, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, were by her side at the hospital, although Rahul left after a while. The exact cause of her hospitalization has not been clarified yet.

This hospitalization follows an earlier instance in January 2026, when Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the same hospital due to respiratory discomfort. At that time, doctors determined that her bronchial asthma was aggravated by the combination of Delhi's winter weather and high levels of air pollution.

Sonia Gandhi, who turned 79 in December, is currently serving as a Rajya Sabha MP representing Rajasthan. She had previously served five terms as a Lok Sabha MP and has held the position of Congress party president twice. Throughout the previous year, Sonia Gandhi experienced at least three publicly known hospitalizations for various health concerns. In June 2025, she was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital due to a stomach-related issue. Earlier that same month, she had been hospitalized in Shimla for a routine check-up after facing minor health concerns.

Before that, in February 2025, Sonia Gandhi was also admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for another stomach-related issue. The series of hospitalizations has raised concerns about her health, and her family has consistently been by her side to offer support during these times. The Congress leader's health has been under public scrutiny due to her prominent political position, with supporters expressing well wishes for her swift recovery.
