Akshay Kumar has finally addressed the status of the much-awaited Hera Pheri 3, revealing that the project is unlikely to begin production anytime soon. The actor confirmed that the film is currently on hold due to multiple unresolved issues, despite strong fan anticipation for the return of the iconic trio.
The film has been facing prolonged delays, largely due to legal and production-related challenges. Reports indicate ongoing disputes over franchise rights and agreements, which have slowed progress. Akshay Kumar clarified that the delay is not due to any differences among the lead actors, adding that he, along with Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, remains open to reuniting. However, unresolved behind-the-scenes complications continue to stall the project.
The actor hinted that the film is unlikely to go on floors for at least another year. While expressing optimism about the franchise’s future, he suggested that the project will move forward only when the circumstances are right, meaning fans may have to wait longer for any official progress.
The Hera Pheri franchise, originally directed by Priyadarshan, introduced audiences to the beloved characters Raju, Shyam, and Baburao, becoming a cult classic. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, further cemented its popularity. Despite the current uncertainty, the franchise continues to enjoy a massive fan following, keeping expectations high for the third instalment.
