Suvendu Adhikari Sets Governance Tone After Bengal CM Pick
Suvendu Adhikari, named the BJP’s West Bengal Chief Minister pick, has promised a delivery-focused government built on trust, safety and quick implementation.
Addressing newly elected BJP legislators in Kolkata on Friday, May 8, Adhikari said the new administration would move beyond slogans and focus on visible results. His message was clear: Bengal’s voters, he said, had backed change and now expected action.

‘Fear Out, Faith In’ Becomes BJP’s Bengal Message
Adhikari introduced the slogan “bhoy out, bhorsha in” — meaning “fear out, faith in” — as the emotional centre of the incoming government. He linked the phrase to public confidence, women’s safety and stronger accountability in day-to-day governance.
The BJP leader said campaign promises would be treated as commitments, not speeches. His focus on delivery, discipline and implementation is aimed at positioning the new government as a results-first administration.
BJP Pushes Sonar Bangla Vision
The party’s larger pitch remains “Sonar Bangla,” a promise of a safer, more prosperous and culturally rooted West Bengal. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also underlined that the BJP’s Bengal project would combine development with cultural revival, invoking icons such as Ramakrishna, Vivekananda, Aurobindo and Rabindranath Tagore.
For the BJP, Adhikari’s rise marks a defining political shift in a state long dominated by rival forces. For Bengal’s voters, the bigger test begins now: whether the promise of faith, safety and reform turns into visible governance on the ground.
