Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s proposed new office at Namakkal Kavignar Maligai has come under scrutiny following allegations over the renovation tender process. The office is reportedly being shifted to the 10th floor to allow the Chief Minister to work closer to senior government officials and improve administrative coordination.
₹5.54 Crore Renovation Tender Draws Scrutiny
Questions have been raised over the reported ₹5.54 crore renovation tender for the new Chief Minister’s Office. According to the allegations, details of three tenders received for the project were not published online despite requirements governing the public disclosure of eligible government tenders.
Concerns have also been raised over whether the tender process followed the required transparency procedures.
Questions Raised Over Timing of Renovation Work
It has further been alleged that dismantling and preliminary renovation work began before the tender process was formally completed. This has led to questions over whether a contractor may have been selected before the bidding process concluded.
Concerns have also been raised regarding the disclosure of the project’s estimated renovation cost in the relevant work order.
There has been no confirmed finding of wrongdoing at this stage. Further clarification from the Tamil Nadu government could provide more clarity on the tender process and the renovation work being carried out at the proposed new Chief Minister’s Office.
