The Army’s official communication on X (formerly Twitter) announced the operation with the words “Justice is served.” Soon after, a wave of support flooded social media as prominent ministers and opposition leaders alike expressed pride and solidarity with the armed forces.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh posted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” on X, reflecting the nationalistic fervor that the strikes reignited. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath echoed the sentiment with a post that read, “Jai Hind, Jai Hind Ki Sena.” Union Minister Piyush Goyal also shared a graphic titled "Operation Sindoor" accompanied by the now viral slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
Interestingly, praise was not limited to the ruling BJP. Opposition leaders, often critical of the central government’s policies, also publicly lauded the Army's actions. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, currently serving as Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, posted “Proud of our Armed Forces. Jai Hind!” Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi offered a stern message, writing, “They asked about religion. Now suffer your karma. Indian Army.” RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav wrote in Hindi, “There should be neither terror nor separatism! We are proud of our brave soldiers and the Indian Army.”
Youth leader and former Maharashtra minister Aditya Thackeray also posted a detailed message appreciating the strategic execution of the strike. “Terrorism in all its forms has to be eliminated. Tonight’s precision strikes in PoK are against terrorism, and kudos to the Indian defence forces for keeping it precise to sites where terrorism was being harboured. Hit them, hard enough that terrorism doesn’t stand a chance ever again. Jai Hind!” he posted on X.
Operation Sindoor Targets Nine Sites; Leaders Stand United in Support
The government confirmed through an official press release that the Indian Army carried out strikes on nine locations in Pakistan and PoK. These sites were identified as bases of terror groups responsible for launching attacks on Indian civilians. The operation was planned and executed jointly by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, marking the first such combined operation since the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
The press release emphasized that India acted with precision and restraint. “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” it stated.
These strikes were seen as a direct response to the Pahalgam massacre where civilians were brutally targeted by terrorists. India Today reported that approximately 80 to 90 terrorists were neutralized in the strikes, although official numbers have not yet been confirmed. Pakistan acknowledged eight casualties and warned of a potential strong response, labeling the incident an act of aggression.
The coordinated political support from both ruling and opposition parties has created a rare moment of national unity. The response from citizens has been equally supportive, with "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" trending across social platforms and visuals from the Army's Operation Sindoor campaign being widely shared. As the aftermath unfolds, diplomatic channels remain tense, and both sides are monitoring the situation along the border. However, one sentiment has resonated clearly within India: the country stands firmly behind its armed forces. From public platforms to parliament, voices have united in echoing a simple yet powerful message "Jai Hind."
