Team India finally has a new jersey sponsor after the exit of Dream11, with Apollo Tyres officially securing the rights in a massive deal that will run until 2027. The confirmation came through a senior BCCI official, ending days of speculation about which brand would step in after Dream11’s sudden departure.
The exit of Dream11 followed the Indian government’s decision to ban real-money gaming platforms under new legislation, leaving the Indian cricket team without a jersey sponsor during their Asia Cup 2025 campaign in Dubai. This gap has now been filled by Apollo Tyres, a brand with a strong presence in global sports sponsorships. Reports confirm that Apollo will pay approximately Rs 4.5 crore per game, which is higher than the Rs 4 crore paid by Dream11.
The overall deal is expected to generate nearly Rs 600 crore for the BCCI by the end of its term. Competing brands such as Canva, JK Tyre, and Birla Optus Paints had also shown interest but either lost the bidding process or were unwilling to match Apollo’s aggressive offer.
The BCCI had already set new restrictions before the bidding process, clearly prohibiting companies linked to gaming, betting, crypto, tobacco, and certain other industries. This ensured that only established consumer-focused and non-controversial brands were considered for sponsorship of the national team.
It remains unclear whether the men’s cricket team will immediately don jerseys with Apollo Tyres branding during the ongoing Asia Cup. However, sources suggest that the women’s team could debut the new kit during the upcoming T20 World Cup.
For Apollo Tyres, this sponsorship is a significant marketing move, aligning the brand with one of the most recognized cricket teams in the world. For the BCCI, the deal not only secures higher revenue but also strengthens the team’s association with a globally reputed brand. The transition marks a new era of sponsorship in Indian cricket, especially after the challenges posed by government regulations affecting previous sponsors. With the deal locked in, both the men’s and women’s teams are set to represent India under the Apollo Tyres banner for the next two years, ensuring strong financial support for the board and greater visibility for the brand across major international tournaments.
