Brassica Polaris restaurant plans are moving ahead for summer 2027, giving the Columbus-based Mediterranean fast-casual chain another location in Central Ohio.
The planned restaurant is expected to open at 2170 Ikea Way in Polaris and occupy about 2,600 square feet on a property that was previously undeveloped, according to the provided development details.
What Brassica Plans in Polaris
The new Polaris location will follow Brassica’s familiar format of customizable Mediterranean pita wraps and bowls. Customers can choose proteins such as falafel, chicken and brisket, along with vegetables including marinated eggplant and roasted cauliflower.
The menu also includes dips such as hummus and baba ghanoush, keeping the Polaris restaurant consistent with Brassica’s existing fast-casual concept.
How Brassica Grew From Columbus
Brassica started in Columbus in 2015, when husband-and-wife founders Kevin and Katy Malhame opened the first restaurant in the Short North. The chain later expanded to Bexley in 2018, Upper Arlington and Shaker Heights in 2019, Easton Town Center in 2021, Westlake in 2023 and Cincinnati in 2025.
The company has also expanded outside Ohio, including a Houston restaurant that opened in March, though the provided information does not specify the year. Planned locations also include Fairlawn, an Akron suburb; Sugar Land, Texas; and Indianapolis.
Why the Polaris Location Matters
The Polaris restaurant would add another Brassica location in the brand’s home market while placing it near one of Central Ohio’s major retail areas. For Columbus-area diners, it would bring another Mediterranean bowls and pitas option to the Ikea Way corridor.
The Malhames also operate Northstar Cafe, which first opened in the Short North in 2004, and Third & Hollywood, which opened near Grandview Heights in 2009. The Polaris plan shows continued investment in the Columbus restaurant market where the Brassica brand first gained attention.
