Inside the hidden venue, officials found a disturbing scene: illegal drugs, firearms, and active-duty military members, some posing as clubgoers and others acting as armed security. Pullen revealed that as officers stormed the building, many attendees attempted to dispose of narcotics quickly. Authorities recovered a significant amount of cocaine, though much of the seized material is still pending laboratory testing. Along with the DEA, personnel from the Army Criminal Investigation Division were involved in the operation, although further comments from Fort Carson's public affairs office were not available by Sunday night.
Video footage shared by the DEA ahead of the operation showed officers in full tactical gear encircling the club, issuing warnings in English and Spanish, urging individuals inside to surrender peacefully. Pullen described the location, which appeared to be situated within a strip mall, as a hotspot for drug trafficking, prostitution, and violent criminal activity. Numerous firearms were also confiscated during the raid, suggesting the establishment was a hub for organized crime.
The investigation remains ongoing, with Pullen hinting at further raids planned across the city. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump shared footage from the operation on his social media account, characterizing those detained as some of the "worst people illegally in our country." While Trump alleged that some detainees were murderers and violent offenders, DEA officials have not yet confirmed any murder charges among those arrested.
Attorney General Bondi further stated that among those apprehended were suspected members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang and the notorious MS-13 gang, both labeled as serious threats to national security. Surveillance had allegedly identified individuals linked not only to these gangs but also to the Hells Angels motorcycle club, adding another layer of complexity to the criminal network operating from the nightclub. Bondi praised Trump for achieving tangible results in his efforts to enhance national security.
However, the large-scale detentions have sparked concern among immigrant rights groups and civil liberties advocates. Organizations such as the Colorado Rapid Response Network advised families of detainees to remind them of their rights, including the right to remain silent and the ability to request legal representation before signing any documents. The group emphasized the need for caution, stating that not all facts regarding the raid have yet been established.
Jose Dominguez, one of the nightclub attendees, recounted his experience of being handcuffed and detained while authorities verified his immigration status. After determining that he was in the country legally, Dominguez was released without charges, expressing frustration over the incident being treated as if it never happened.
As the investigation progresses, the raid highlights growing tensions around immigration enforcement, the presence of violent gangs within U.S. borders, and the ongoing challenges faced by immigrant communities in an increasingly volatile environment. Authorities have promised further updates as they continue to unravel the network of illegal activities linked to the now-exposed underground venue in Colorado Springs
