The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of Mumbai’s most iconic cultural celebration, running from January 25 to February 2, 2025. This year’s theme, “Silver,” commemorates the rich history and evolution of the festival. Spanning over nine days, the festival features more than 300 events across 15 categories, showcasing the best of Mumbai's art and culture scene.
With performances from celebrated artists and institutions, KGAF 2025 is a cultural feast. The festival kicked off with a spectacular event, “Silver Sitaare Fusion,” featuring 25 dance styles by 55 renowned artists. Actress Sanya Malhotra launched a special coffee table book documenting the festival’s journey over the years. This collector's edition includes insights from influential voices like Brinda Miller, Ranjit Hoskote, and Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
Festival highlights include theatre productions by Makarand Deshpande and Juhi Babbar, literature talks with Devdutt Pattanaik and Gurcharan Das, stand-up comedy performances, and an eclectic mix of dance from Padma Shri Narthaki Nataraj and others. The festival also features a special culinary segment, ‘Chefs of Kala Ghoda,’ in collaboration with RPG Foundation.
Held across multiple iconic venues in the Kala Ghoda district, such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS), Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, and Asiatic Library Steps, this festival promises something for every art enthusiast.
