Hyderabad became the spotlight of global attention as the Miss World 2025 pageant officially began with a grand heritage walk through the city’s historic old quarters. Contestants from various countries arrived in the city to experience the cultural depth and hospitality of India, with the inaugural event kicking off at the iconic Charminar. This initiative marked the beginning of a series of cultural experiences that aim to highlight Hyderabad’s rich heritage and traditions to an international audience.
The event commenced with a lively welcome, complete with traditional Hyderabadi Marfa music, creating an energetic and festive atmosphere. Contestants in elegant attire posed for photos at Charminar, instantly making waves on social media with their scenic pictures that quickly began trending across platforms. The visuals blended modern glamour with timeless history, making the launch of Miss World 2025 both glamorous and culturally immersive.
The heritage walk was thoughtfully organized by the Forum for a Better Hyderabad, a civic organization that promotes awareness and preservation of the city’s historical treasures. The route took the guests through some of the city’s most prominent heritage landmarks including Mecca Masjid, Chowmahalla Palace, Banshahi Ashurkhana, Khilwat Mubarak, and the ever-vibrant Lad Bazaar. Each site offered its own unique story, with architecture and legacy dating back several centuries.
After a culturally rich walk through the old city, the group of contestants made their way to the stately Chowmahalla Palace in the evening. Known for its regal charm and historical importance, the palace served as a grand venue for the second leg of the day’s program. The visitors were treated to a Hindustani shehnai performance that echoed through the palace halls, creating a serene and elegant ambiance. A royal Hyderabadi dinner followed the performance, served in the luxurious surroundings of the palace courtyard. Traditional dishes and decor reflected the authentic culinary legacy of the region. The evening was a perfect blend of history, music, and hospitality, leaving the international guests in awe of Hyderabad’s deep-rooted cultural elegance.
To manage the large-scale movement of delegates and ensure public convenience, traffic restrictions were temporarily implemented in parts of the old city, particularly around Charminar and the surrounding heritage zones. This allowed the event to proceed smoothly without affecting the daily flow of residents and tourists. Miss World 2025’s grand beginning in Hyderabad has not only brought global attention to the city but also reaffirmed its reputation as a destination that perfectly blends modern vibrancy with historical charm. As the pageant continues, the cultural showcase promises more moments of cross-cultural celebration, setting a strong precedent for future international events hosted in the city.
