Sri Vishnu’s #Single Promises Fun and Emotion – Exclusive Telugu Movie Interview

Sri Vishnu’s #Single Promises Fun and Emotion – Exclusive Telugu Movie Interview

Your earlier works had horror and action. Why choose a romantic comedy like 'Single'?
My first Tamil film was a comedy entertainer produced by the legendary S.P. Balasubrahmanyam. Comedy is not new to me. I’ve always wanted to explore this genre again, and 'Single' gave me that perfect opportunity.

How did you come up with the story for 'Single'?
I wrote the story during the COVID-19 lockdown and narrated it to Sri Vishnu then. He was working on Brochevarevarura at the time, which I admired. We had many discussions, and eventually, I pitched it to Geetha Arts in 2023.

What made Sri Vishnu the right choice for the lead?
His body language and comic timing are unique. He brings a different energy on-screen. In 'Single', audiences will see a refreshing and fun version of him they haven't seen before.

What role does Vennela Kishore play in the film?
His character is extremely crucial he appears in almost 90% of the story. The dynamic between him and Sri Vishnu creates hilarious situations that will surely entertain everyone.

Tell us about the female leads Ketika Sharma and Ivana.
Both are exceptional performers. Ivana impressed me in Love Today, and her performance here is charming. Ketika delivered her role with great finesse. Their characters are equally important to the narrative.

How was your experience working with Geetha Arts?
A dream come true. They supported us thoroughly, never compromising on the vision. It was a smooth and joyful experience from start to finish.

Was there any challenge adapting the dialogues to Telugu?
The original script had a Tamil flavor. I collaborated with Bhanu Nandu to localize the dialogues, ensuring they retained the humor and emotion for Telugu audiences.

What can you say about the film’s music?
Vishal Chandrasekhar gave us beautiful music that fits the story perfectly. The songs are soulful, fun, and emotionally engaging.

Is there an emotional angle in this comedy film?
Absolutely. There's a touching sequence featuring Rajendra Prasad garu that adds real depth to the film. It’s one of my favorite parts.

Can we expect a sequel to ‘Single’?
There’s definitely a thought for a sequel. I also have a few more scripts lined up for Sri Vishnu. I’d love to work with him again his timing is unmatched.

Many actresses have spoken about pay disparity. What’s your take on it? Priyamani: Yes, it’s true that I’ve often been paid less than my male co-stars. But that doesn’t bother me anymore.
