Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s Big Comeback as Rambo With Swaroop RSJ – Exclusive Interview
What attracted you to the film Rambo?
What really pulled me in was the unique character arc. Playing a Brahmin who transforms into a detective or agent is something fresh and layered. It has humor, intensity, and emotional depth, which makes it exciting for me as an actor.
After the setbacks of Jack and Telusu Kada, how important is Rambo for your career?
Every actor goes through ups and downs. Jack and Telusu Kada didn’t perform as expected, but failures teach you more than successes. Rambo is very important because I believe in the script strongly. It feels like the right film at the right time for my comeback.
You had Kohinoor and Badass announced earlier. Why prioritize Rambo?
Both Kohinoor and Badass are interesting projects, but sometimes you have to trust your instinct. Rambo felt more complete and commercially strong. I felt audiences would love this character, so I decided to move forward with it first.
Swaroop RSJ also had a mixed phase after Agent Sai Sreenivas Athreya. How is this collaboration shaping up?
Swaroop is a brilliant writer-director. Agent Sai Sreenivas Athreya proved his storytelling strength. We both want to bounce back stronger. There’s a hunger in both of us to deliver a blockbuster, and that energy is clearly visible during discussions.
What can audiences expect from Rambo?
They can expect a smart entertainer with a gripping investigative angle, strong characterization, and engaging humor. It won’t be a typical action film just because of the title. It has a unique cultural and investigative twist.
How significant is Sithara Naga Vamsi’s banner for you?
Sithara is a lucky banner for me. DJ Tillu and Tillu Square became major blockbusters under this production. There’s mutual trust between us, and that confidence always reflects on screen.
Is Rambo more commercial or content-driven?
It’s a balanced film. It has commercial appeal but is rooted in strong content. We are aiming for a film that satisfies both mass audiences and those who appreciate intelligent storytelling.
