Exclusive Interview: Ritika Nayak On Her Strong Monk Role In Teja Sajja’s Action Fantasy Film Mirai

How did you come on board for Mirai?
After my debut in Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, I was waiting for a strong role. Mirai came at the perfect time with an extraordinary script. My character immediately connected with me, and I was excited to be part of it.

Tell us about your character in Mirai.
I play a very strong monk character who lives in the Himalayas. The role carries immense energy and depth. Without revealing too much, I can say it adds a unique dimension to the action adventure, giving audiences a powerful visual experience.

How was it working with Teja Sajja?
Teja is highly professional, sweet-natured, and very dedicated. Despite injuries and health issues during the shoot, he was always on time and gave his best. I learned a lot from him.

What about Manoj Manchu and the rest of the cast?
Manoj garu is powerful on-screen but off-screen he is fun and very warm. Working with Jagapathi Babu garu was an honor, and sharing screens with Shriya garu was an amazing experience. The entire cast was wonderful to work with.

Was the shooting process challenging?
Yes, very much. Around 80% of the film was shot in live locations, often in real-time difficult environments. It was challenging but thanks to the team’s support, the journey turned out to be memorable.

Your thoughts on director Karthik Ghattamneni?
Karthik garu is a visionary. He works with great clarity and executes scenes brilliantly. On set, we used to joke about being like brother and sister since our birthdays are just a day apart. Working with him was a joy.

What about the music of Mirai?
Hari Gowra has composed amazing tracks. The songs are visually stunning and the background score is on another level, enhancing the grandeur of the film.

What kind of roles do you want to do in the future?
I want to take up performance-oriented roles with strong importance in the story. I especially love superhero and action-romance genres. Hanu-Man is one of my favorites.

Your experience with People Media Factory?
They are passionate producers who supported us throughout. They mounted the film on a grand scale without any compromises. Working under their banner was a privilege.

Which actress inspires you the most?
I admire Sai Pallavi garu a lot. Watching Fidaa made me a big fan of hers. She is my inspiration.

Any upcoming projects?
Yes, I am working on a film with Varun Tej garu, along with some other projects that will be announced soon.

All the best,
Thank you
