Sahil Salathia Talks Betrayal & Pain on The Traitors in Exclusive Interview

How was your experience on The Traitors?
I was evicted very early. I felt humiliated, worthless, and even suicidal after being betrayed by my best friend of 8 years, Elnaaz Norouzi. It left me deeply shaken.

Why do you feel so hurt by Elnaaz's betrayal?
She was like family in Bombay. I visited her house six times a week. To be "killed" on the show by someone that close, and not even receive an apology it was heartbreaking.

How did the betrayal affect your personal life?
I’ve stopped celebrating birthdays with close friends. I live alone in Mumbai now. It changed how I view friendships and trust.

Would you do a reality show again?
No, not with men. I feel men hate me. I connect better with women emotionally. This show made me feel like I lost all my close bonds.

What was your motivation to join The Traitors?
I wanted people to see the real Sahil an artist with unique fashion taste and aesthetics. I thought the show could offer me a bigger audience.

Who do you think is the smartest player on the show?
Ironically, Elnaaz. If you can kill your best friend on national television without guilt, you’ve lost ethically but won the game strategically.

What makes The Traitors different from other reality shows?
The contestants were achievers people like Lakshmi Manchu and Raj Kundra. It wasn’t your typical reality show filled with noise and drama.

Do you believe being a traitor is necessary in life or the industry?
No. You don’t need to be a traitor in real life. A clean soul matters more than fillers and Botox. I believe in staying ethical, even in the industry.

Did any past professional setbacks affect your emotions here?
Yes. My past projects like Panipat and P.O.W. didn’t succeed. I’ve been searching for validation. That emotional vulnerability made the betrayal even worse.

What’s your message to those dealing with betrayal or mental health struggles?
Life is bigger than a show. Your emotions are valid. But don’t let others’ actions define your self-worth. Find strength in authenticity.
