In an interesting turn of events, Samantha's Shakuntalam, which is being released by Dil Raju in Telugu has announced the release date. The latest announcement from the makers confirms that the film will be releasing in theaters on the 17th of February. 

The interesting thing here is that the likes of Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha - produced and backed by Allu Aravind, and Dhanush's Sir, backed by Sithara Entertainments have already locked the 17 February date. 

Incidentally, Vishwak Sen's Dhamki had also announced 17 February as the release date. There were already 3 films announced for release on the 17th of February, and now, Dil Raju has joined the list with Shakuntalam.

Dil Raju is evidently coming up against Allu Aravind and Sithara Entertainments which is a sign of an internal clash between these top production labels. It remains to be seen how this tug of way will shape up in the due course.
