Megastar Chiranjeevi is marking his 69th birthday today with celebrations from fans worldwide. Among those joining in the festivities is Tamil actor and stuntman Ponnambalam, who took the opportunity to express his heartfelt gratitude to Chiranjeevi for his generous support during a critical time in his life.
During the birthday celebrations, Ponnambalam shared an emotional account of how Chiranjeevi's intervention made a significant difference in his life. He recalled that in the mid-1980s, Chiranjeevi went beyond the norm by paying fighters Rs 1,000 per day, which was more than the usual salary. Most notably, Ponnambalam revealed that Chiranjeevi spent Rs 58 lakh on his kidney treatment when he was diagnosed with severe health issues, saving his life.
Ponnambalam, who has worked alongside Chiranjeevi in films like Hitler, Gharana Mogudu, and Mugguru Monagallu, acknowledged Chiranjeevi’s unwavering support not only in personal crises but also for the film industry.
