Vijay Deverakonda’s much-awaited political action drama Kingdom has finally locked its release date. After multiple delays, the film is now officially slated for a worldwide theatrical release on July 31, 2025. The actor took to social media on July 7 to share a gripping teaser along with the announcement. Captioning the post on X , Vijay wrote, “KINGDOM July 31st. Worldwide. Let our Destinies unfold. A gowtam19 story that unfolds like a novel to anirudhofficial's genius score.”
Directed by Gautham Tinnanuri, Kingdom explores the emotionally charged and politically layered setting of the post-Independence Sinhala-Tamil refugee crisis, a subject rarely touched upon in Telugu cinema. The teaser hints at an intense narrative layered with emotion, conflict, and survival. Vijay Deverakonda appears in a powerful new avatar, and the film promises to showcase his range as an actor in a role driven by political turbulence and human drama.
The film features Bhagyashree Borse and Satyadev in important roles. Backed by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Creations, the movie brings together a stellar technical crew. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, whose emotionally resonant score is expected to elevate the storytelling. Cinematography is handled by Girish Gangadharan and Jomon T John, while Naveen Nooli is in charge of editing.
Originally, Kingdom was scheduled for a summer release on May 30. It was later postponed to July 4 due to the nationwide sentiment following the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22 and India’s military response, Operation Sindoor. Citing national sensitivity and production logistics, the makers made the decision to shift the date again, settling on July 31 as the final release date.
With its socially relevant subject, cinematic scale, and Vijay Deverakonda’s compelling presence, Kingdom is set to make a strong statement this July. Fans who have been waiting eagerly can now mark their calendars for what promises to be a bold and impactful film.
