Vijay Deverakonda is all set for a crucial test at the box office with his latest film Kingdom, directed by Gautham Tinnanuri. For both the actor and the director, this film represents more than just a theatrical release it’s a make-or-break opportunity. After facing a string of mixed outcomes in recent years, Kingdom arrives as a mass-action entertainer, packed with elevation scenes, action sequences, and an emotional arc designed to appeal to a wide audience.
What makes Kingdom stand out is its strategic release window. With Hari Hara Veera Mallu failing to capture the audience’s interest and other ongoing releases like Mahavatar Narsimha and Saiyaara not posing significant threats, Kingdom faces minimal box office competition. This scenario offers a rare golden opportunity for the film to dominate the theatrical space, especially during its opening weekend.
The commercial stakes are high. The film has already generated solid pre-release revenue across different regions. Reportedly, Kingdom was sold for ₹15 Cr in Nizam, ₹6 Cr in Ceded, ₹15 Cr in Andhra, ₹3.5 Cr across the Rest of India, ₹10 Cr in Overseas, and ₹4 Cr for dubbing versions. These figures underline the trade's confidence in the film’s potential. To break even and turn a profit, the film must deliver a blockbuster-level performance in theaters.
Advance bookings opened yesterday and have shown promising signs. Several multiplexes and single screens reported fast-filling shows, reflecting the audience's curiosity and excitement. Adding fuel to the buzz is the film’s pre-release event scheduled for today. One of the major highlights of the event is music director Anirudh Ravichander’s electrifying live performance, expected to draw massive attention across social media and news platforms.
With solid trade numbers, low competition, and growing audience interest, Kingdom has all the ingredients for a successful theatrical run. Now, it’s up to the film’s content to match the hype and deliver the much-needed blockbuster for Vijay Deverakonda and Gautham Tinnanuri. The countdown has begun, and the box office gates are wide open.
