Dulquer Salmaan’s 1950s Drama Kaantha Postponed, New Release Date Awaited

Dulquer Salmaan’s much-awaited period drama Kaantha has become the talk of the town ever since its teaser was unveiled. Set in the 1950s, the film promises an engaging story backed by rich visuals and strong performances. Starring Bhagyashree Borse as the female lead and directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, the film also features Samuthirakani in a pivotal role.

Originally scheduled to release on September 12, the makers have now postponed the film. The reason behind this decision is strategic Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah is currently running successfully at the box office, and since Dulquer himself is the producer of Lokah, he chose to avoid a clash between the two films.

Kaantha is mounted on a large scale and is jointly produced by Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, Prashanth Potluri, and Jom Varghese under Spirit Media Pvt. Ltd. and Wayfarer Films Pvt. Ltd. The teaser has already impressed audiences with its retro setting, authentic costumes, and captivating background score, raising expectations for its theatrical run.

A new release date for Kaantha will be announced soon, and trade circles believe the makers are aiming for a more favorable slot to maximize box office potential. With Dulquer balancing his roles as both actor and producer, fans are eagerly waiting to see how this 1950s drama unfolds on the big screen.
