Teja Sajja Says Hrithik Roshan, Not Hollywood Stars, Was His Childhood Superhero

Actor Teja Sajja, who has recently risen as a new-age star with blockbusters like Hanu-Man and Mirai, shared in an exclusive chat that Hrithik Roshan, not Hollywood icons, was his childhood superhero. The 30-year-old actor revealed he grew up without exposure to Western superhero films like Spider-Man and instead idolized Hrithik Roshan, whom he still refers to as his “only superhero.” Although he has never met Hrithik, the impact on his career and creative outlook has been significant.

Teja also clarified his stance on commercial cinema, stating that his films are among the most mass-oriented projects today. While Telugu cinema is known for high-octane action and mass appeal, he believes his films represent a new wave of commercial entertainment that resonates with audiences across age groups.

Reflecting on his popularity among children, Teja mentioned how kids became his real audience during Hanu-Man’s run. The film was consciously made clean, avoiding smoking or drinking scenes, which helped it find a strong following among young viewers. He recalled how parents often complained that their children watched his movies repeatedly at home, cementing his status as a kids’ favorite.

On experimenting with genres, Teja admitted he doesn’t intend to stray from mainstream entertainment. Instead, he focuses on delivering theatrical experiences that excite audiences and bring them back to cinemas. Despite his rising stardom, Teja remains grounded, citing his long journey as a child actor since the age of two and a half. He acknowledged that success in cinema is fleeting and said he values the love and blessings he has today without taking it for granted. His latest release, Mirai, features a star-studded cast including Manchu Manoj, Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, Getup Srinu, and Jayaram, further cementing Teja’s position as one of the most bankable stars of this generation.
