Raja The Raja Trailer Promises a Timeless Love Story Across Eras
The trailer of upcoming romantic entertainer Raja The Raja has been released, presenting an emotional love story that travels between a royal past and the modern world. The film stars Ruthvik and Vishakha Dhiman in the lead roles and is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 17, 2026.
The project has also received a major boost ahead of release, with Mythri Movie Distributors coming forward to present the film in theatres. Raja The Raja is produced by K Niharika Dasari under the Vrindavan Creations banner and directed by Annil Boyiidapu.
The newly released trailer introduces audiences to an ambitious romantic drama built around love, tragedy, destiny and rebirth. With grand period visuals, emotional confrontations and a contrasting contemporary setting, the trailer attempts to offer a sweeping love story across two different eras.
Royal Tragedy Meets Modern-Day Romance
The trailer begins in a royal kingdom ruled by Raja Virata Varma Devaraya, played by Saikumar. The character is presented as a powerful ruler who values tradition, dignity and the honour of his kingdom. Against this royal backdrop, a passionate love story begins to unfold. However, the romance takes a tragic turn when the protagonist is blamed for bringing misfortune to the kingdom. He is eventually sentenced to death, bringing the historical chapter of the love story to a painful conclusion.
The narrative then shifts to the present day, where the lovers appear again in new identities. This transition forms the central hook of Raja The Raja, connecting an unfinished romance from the past with a new relationship in the modern era. Director Annil Boyiidapu presents the two timelines with different visual moods while keeping the love story at the centre of the narrative. Ravikiran Boyidapu’s cinematography creates a clear contrast between the grandeur of the royal portions and the brighter contemporary world. Mark K Robin’s background score further strengthens the emotional tone of the trailer, particularly during the dramatic historical sequences and romantic moments. The production design and visual scale also give the period portions a grand appearance.
Ruthvik and Vishakha Dhiman Lead the Emotional Saga
Ruthvik takes on contrasting roles across the two timelines. In the historical portions, his character carries intensity and emotional weight, while the present-day sequences showcase a lighter and more charming personality.
Vishakha Dhiman brings elegance to the trailer and shares appealing chemistry with Ruthvik. Their relationship appears to be the emotional foundation of the film, connecting both the historical tragedy and the modern-day romance. Saikumar adds authority and gravitas through his role as Raja Virata Varma Devaraya. His commanding presence strengthens the royal portions of the story. Dr. Naresh Vijaya Krishna also appears in an important role as the hero’s father.
The Raja The Raja trailer combines romance, period drama, tragedy and the idea of love returning across generations. With its two-era narrative, grand visuals and emotional music, the film is aiming to attract audiences looking for a traditional love saga presented on a larger cinematic scale. Raja The Raja is scheduled to release in theatres on July 17, 2026. With Mythri Movie Distributors backing its theatrical presentation and the trailer creating curiosity around its reincarnation-style love story, the film is expected to gain further attention as it moves closer to release.
