A Chandigarh court has summoned Salman Khan, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and company directors over an alleged Being Human jewellery franchise dispute. The accused have reportedly been directed to appear on October 5 and submit their responses to the allegations.
Salman Khan Cheating Case Returns To Court
Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri have reportedly been summoned by a Chandigarh district court in connection with an alleged cheating complaint involving a Being Human jewellery showroom.
Directors associated with Style and Content Jewellery Private Limited have also been summoned in the matter. The court has reportedly directed the accused to appear on October 5, 2026, and file their responses to the claims made in the complaint.
The summons have brought renewed attention to a business dispute that first became public several years ago. The allegations are yet to be established before the court, and the issuance of summons should not be treated as a finding of guilt against any of those named.
Being Human Jewellery Dispute Involves Rs 3 Crore Claim
The complaint was filed by Chandigarh-based businessman Arun Gupta, who alleged that he was persuaded to establish a Being Human jewellery showroom in Manimajra after receiving assurances about promotional support, product supply and the brand’s involvement.
Gupta claimed that he invested approximately Rs 2 crore to Rs 3 crore in setting up and operating the outlet. According to his complaint, the promised promotional assistance was not provided and the supply of jewellery was allegedly interrupted, resulting in significant financial losses.
The businessman also alleged that repeated attempts to contact officials connected with the venture failed to resolve the problems. The disagreement later developed into a legal dispute involving the commercial arrangements surrounding the franchise.
Salman Khan Showroom Promise Part Of Complaint
Gupta further claimed that Salman Khan was expected to inaugurate the Chandigarh showroom and promote the jewellery brand. However, actor Aayush Sharma reportedly attended the opening ceremony instead.
The complainant cited the change in the inauguration arrangement and the alleged absence of later promotional support as part of his dissatisfaction with the commitments made before the investment. He also claimed that an office intended for stock collection had remained closed, affecting the operation of the outlet.
The court proceedings are expected to examine the agreements, representations and responsibilities of the individuals and companies named in the complaint.
Being Human Clarification Denied Direct Involvement
When the allegations emerged in 2021, Style Quotient Jewellery Private Limited issued a clarification stating that it was the global licensee responsible for manufacturing and selling jewellery under the Being Human brand.
The company said that the franchise agreement was between Style Quotient Jewellery and Modern Jewels, the business owned by Arun Gupta. It maintained that Salman Khan, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and the Being Human Foundation were not parties to the memorandum signed with the franchisee and had no direct role in that commercial agreement.
The October 5 hearing is expected to provide the named parties an opportunity to respond formally. Further details may emerge after their replies are submitted and the court considers the competing claims.
