Yash’s Toxic will open advance bookings on August 21 before its August 26 worldwide theatrical release, with an expected rollout across nearly 12,000 screens.
Toxic Advance Booking Opens on August 21
Yash is preparing for one of the biggest theatrical releases of his career with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on August 26, 2026, while advance bookings are set to begin on August 21, coinciding with the Varamahalakshmi festival.
The five-day advance booking window is expected to build significant momentum ahead of release. Toxic is reportedly targeting around 12,000 screens worldwide, which would place it among the widest global releases for an Indian film. However, the final screen count has not yet been officially confirmed.
The film carries huge expectations as it marks Yash’s first theatrical release since KGF: Chapter 2. After a four-year gap from the big screen, the actor is returning with a project positioned as a large-scale gangster drama with strong international appeal.
Toxic Worldwide Release Targets India and Overseas Markets
The makers have assembled an extensive distribution network for Toxic across India and international territories. KVN Productions will handle distribution in Karnataka, while Panorama Films is associated with the Kerala release.
Sri Venkateswara Creations, led by Dil Raju, will distribute the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. AA Films has secured rights for North India and Nepal, while the Tamil Nadu release will be handled through Think Studios, S Picture, White Nights through Trident Arts and Five Star Senthil.
Phars Film will distribute the Indian-language versions overseas. The English-language edition will follow a separate international distribution strategy through Lionsgate, with additional details expected closer to release.
The film is planned for release in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, along with an English version, highlighting the makers’ ambition to reach audiences well beyond Yash’s traditional markets.
Toxic Cast and Crew Add to Big-Screen Expectations
Toxic features Yash in the lead alongside a major ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair.
The film is produced by Venkat K Narayana’s KVN Productions and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Rajeev Ravi is handling cinematography, Vishal Mishra is composing the music, and Ravi Basrur is providing the background score.
Director Geetu Mohandas is presenting Yash in a new cinematic space after the massive popularity of the KGF franchise. The project is being promoted as more than a conventional gangster film, with its scale, visual treatment and international release strategy designed to give it a distinct identity.
Toxic 12,000-Screen Plan Raises Opening Day Expectations
The reported 12,000-screen target, multilingual rollout and five-day advance booking period have significantly raised expectations around Toxic’s opening numbers.
For Yash, the movie represents an important opportunity to establish a new identity outside the KGF universe. His popularity following KGF: Chapter 2 has given Toxic a strong foundation even before ticket sales begin.
With advance bookings opening on August 21 and the theatrical release scheduled for August 26, attention will now turn to the early ticket response across India and international markets. If the reported screen count materialises, Toxic could emerge as one of the most widely released Indian films of 2026 and one of the year’s biggest box-office events.
