Nandamuri Balakrishna’s NBK111 is set for a December 24 theatrical release after its earlier Dussehra plan was delayed by the actor’s injury.
NBK111 Locks December 24 Release After Schedule Change
Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming action entertainer NBK111 has officially locked December 24, 2026, as its theatrical release date. The Gopichand Malineni directorial was earlier expected to arrive during the Dussehra season, but the schedule changed after Balakrishna sustained an injury while filming an action sequence.
The Christmas release gives the film a strong year-end window and keeps it away from the expected heavy competition during the Sankranthi 2027 season. The announcement has created fresh excitement among Balakrishna fans, who have been waiting for a major update following the production delay.
Balakrishna underwent treatment and has been recovering from the injury. While reports have varied on when he will return to the sets, the makers have confirmed the December 24 release and indicated that post-production work is progressing.
The project marks another collaboration between Balakrishna and Gopichand Malineni after their successful film Veera Simha Reddy. Their reunion has made NBK111 one of the most closely watched Telugu releases of the year.
NBK111 Brings Balakrishna Back In Powerful Action Avatar
NBK111 is being promoted as a high-energy action entertainer designed around Balakrishna’s larger-than-life screen presence. The birthday glimpse, titled Entry of an Era, gave audiences a first look at his powerful new avatar and raised expectations for the film’s action scale.
The video carried the line, “No more vintage, only new age,” suggesting that the makers are presenting Balakrishna in a refreshed, stylish look while retaining the mass appeal associated with his recent films.
Kajal Aggarwal plays the female lead opposite Balakrishna. The two previously shared screen space in Bhagavanth Kesari, and their reunion adds interest to the film. Manchu Manoj is also reported to play a major antagonist role, setting up a significant face-off in the action drama.
The December 24 date allows the production team to complete the remaining shoot and post-production work without rushing into the crowded festive season. It could also give the film a wider theatrical run before the major Pongal and Sankranthi releases arrive in January.
NBK111 Christmas Release Puts Strong Team In Focus
NBK111 is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner. Gopichand Malineni directs the film, while Aravind S Kashyap is handling cinematography and S Thaman is composing the music.
The technical team also includes production designer AS Prakash, editor Naveen Nooli and dialogue writer Sai Madhav Burra. Ram-Lakshman and Ravi Varma are handling the action choreography, an important department for a film positioned as a large-scale Balakrishna action vehicle.
Balakrishna’s return after the injury break is another point of attention surrounding the project. The actor has continued to headline demanding commercial films, and the latest release announcement signals that the team remains confident about meeting its Christmas target.
NBK111 Christmas Plan Avoids Sankranthi Rush
By choosing December 24, NBK111 gets a strategic advantage over a direct Sankranthi clash. The December release could offer Balakrishna a strong solo or relatively open box-office window, depending on the final line-up of Christmas releases.
The film’s title is yet to be formally announced, with NBK111 continuing as its working title. More promotional material, including the official title reveal, teaser and songs, is expected in the coming months as the release campaign gains momentum.
