Megastar Chiranjeevi is reportedly preparing to enter the cinema exhibition business through a major collaboration with Asian Cinemas in Hyderabad. The proposed theatre venture is expected to be developed at a premium property in the city’s Financial District. Reports suggest that the project could feature one of the world’s largest operating cinema screens, potentially turning it into a major entertainment landmark.
Asian Cinemas has previously worked with leading Telugu actors, including Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun, on branded theatre projects. The reported partnership with Chiranjeevi would expand the company’s growing network of celebrity-backed cinema destinations.
Neither Chiranjeevi nor Asian Cinemas has formally announced the project. Important details, including the size of the screen, construction schedule, auditorium capacity and opening date, have also not been confirmed.
Theatre name and facilities remain unconfirmed
The cinema chain could reportedly be called Asian Chiranjeevi Cinemas, abbreviated as ACC, or Asian Megastar Cinemas, known as AMC. However, the final name has not yet been selected or officially revealed.
The proposed venue is expected to offer a premium movie-watching experience supported by advanced projection, sound and seating technology. Its location in Hyderabad’s Financial District could help attract audiences from the city’s rapidly developing western corridor.
Hyderabad has emerged as an important cinema hub with strong demand for large-format screens and high-end multiplex experiences. A record-sized screen associated with Chiranjeevi could become a major attraction for Telugu film premieres, fan celebrations and big-budget pan-Indian releases.
Hyderabad project may challenge world record
Traumpalast Leonberg in Germany currently holds the Guinness World Record for the largest permanent cinema screen. The screen is approximately 127 feet wide and 69 feet tall, covering around 8,770 square feet.
The German auditorium reportedly has 574 recliner seats and uses IMAX dual-laser projection technology. If the Hyderabad project is designed to exceed those dimensions, it could compete for global recognition as the world’s largest operating cinema screen. However, any record claim would depend on the final construction measurements and official verification. Until the developers announce the technical specifications, the proposed scale remains based on industry reports.
On the film front, Chiranjeevi is awaiting the release of Kaaka and Viswambhara next year. He is also preparing to work with director Srikanth Odela on another major project. An official announcement about the theatre venture is now awaited. Confirmation of the brand name, screen dimensions and launch timeline would provide a clearer picture of whether Hyderabad is set to host a new world-record cinema destination.
