Plot:

Jackman is the film’s greatest strength. His Robin is not presented as a traditional hero but as a damaged individual confronting the consequences of his actions. His interactions with Sister Brigid and Margaret provide some of the film’s most human moments.

However, the screenplay reportedly places too much emphasis on brutality. Graphic violence may suit the film’s dark tone, but repeated scenes involving the killing of vulnerable people begin to feel excessive rather than meaningful.

The second act also struggles to maintain momentum. Extended recovery scenes and repeated discussions about Robin’s violent history slow the narrative when the film should be developing a stronger path toward redemption or reckoning.
