McDonald's New Drinks Arrive Nationwide
McDonald's new drinks are now rolling out across U.S. menus, with six permanent McCafé beverages aimed at customers craving refreshers, cold foam and bolder fast-food drinks. The May 6 launch includes three caffeinated refreshers and three crafted sodas, giving McDonald's a stronger play in the fast-growing specialty beverage market.
Six McCafé Drinks Added to the Menu
The new refresher lineup includes Strawberry Watermelon Refresher, Mango Pineapple Refresher and Blackberry Passion Fruit Refresher. Each uses a lemonade base, while select drinks add freeze-dried fruit, dragon fruit or strawberry popping boba for a brighter, more premium feel.
Crafted Sodas Bring Cold Foam to McDonald's
McDonald's crafted sodas include Sprite Berry Blast, Orange Dream and Dirty Dr Pepper. The drinks layer familiar soda flavors with syrups and cold foam, turning a quick fountain drink into a more indulgent McCafé order.
Officials said the drinks are part of a wider push to make beverages a reason to visit McDonald's, not just an add-on to burgers and fries. The chain is also introducing beverage-focused staffing and prep areas across U.S. restaurants to improve speed and consistency.
The rollout comes as McDonald's prepares to phase out self-service soda machines in U.S. stores by 2032, moving more drink preparation behind the counter. For customers, that means these new McDonald's drinks may signal a bigger change in how the chain serves beverages in restaurants, drive-thrus and delivery orders.
To boost buzz around the launch, McDonald's also partnered with designer Susan Alexandra on limited-edition beaded drink carriers inspired by the six new beverages.
