San Ramon is celebrating 40 years of community fitness and fun with the return of its popular Run San Ramon event on July 4, 2025. Residents and visitors alike are invited to join in the tradition by participating in one of three races: a 5K, 10K, or the Fastest Mile. The family-friendly event is a great way to kick off Independence Day and encourages all levels of runners, joggers, and walkers to take part.

The event begins at 7:30 a.m. with the Fastest Mile, followed by the 5K and 10K races at 8 a.m. All races start and finish at the San Ramon Community Center located at 12501 Alcosta Blvd. The looped course will take runners through scenic parts of the city, making it both challenging and enjoyable.

Participants can register online, by mail, or in person at Sports Basement in San Ramon. Registration will remain open through July 3, with limited options available on race day for late entries. All registered runners will receive race gear, and commemorative items will be available while supplies last.

Celebrate with Awards and Treats

After completing their race, participants can enjoy complimentary refreshments including fruit, ice cream, and beverages. Awards will be presented at the finish line, with recognition given to the top runners in each age group once all racers have completed their events.
