The Indian Embassy in UAE has warned residents not to pay fake appointment agents after BLS International and SGIVS Global ceased operating as authorized service providers. Passport, visa and attestation appointments are now offered free through the missions’ official portal.
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai have warned the public against unauthorized agents offering paid appointments for passport, visa and attestation services.
The warning followed a major change to Indian consular services across the United Arab Emirates.
BLS and SGIVS Services End in UAE
BLS International and SGIVS Global ceased serving as authorized outsourced providers after Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Beginning Wednesday, July 1, 2026, passport, visa and attestation services were being provided directly from the premises of the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai.
The missions clarified that BLS International and SGIVS Global are no longer authorized to provide consular services or collect payments on their behalf.
UAE Passport Appointments Are Free
Applicants must book appointments through the official portal at book.passportindiauae.com.
The Embassy said appointment booking is free and that no third party, intermediary or private company has been authorized to charge applicants for securing appointments.
Residents were specifically advised not to pay BLS International, SGIVS Global or anyone claiming to offer faster appointments, special access or assistance on behalf of the diplomatic missions.
Indian Embassy Issues Fraud Warning
In its advisory dated Friday, July 10, 2026, the Indian mission said claims by individuals or organizations presenting themselves as authorized representatives are false.
Anyone who has been overcharged, misled or given inaccurate information by an agent claiming links to the Embassy or Consulate was asked to report the matter through the missions’ official contact channels.
Applicants seeking passport renewals, Indian visas or document attestation should verify procedures through official Embassy and Consulate announcements. The missions may issue further operational updates as the direct appointment system continues.
