Shai Hope Recalled for West Indies Test Series vs Australia

West Indies white-ball skipper Shai Hope has been recalled to the national Test squad for the upcoming three-match series against Australia, beginning June 25 in Bridgetown. The announcement came on Tuesday as part of a 16-member squad named for the 2025–27 ICC World Test Championship cycle.

Hope, who last played Test cricket in 2021, returns on the back of consistent performances in limited-overs formats. The 30-year-old has previously scored 1,726 runs in 38 Tests, including two centuries. "I'm excited about the inclusion of young prospect Kevlon Anderson, who comes in after solid seasons in our domestic competitions to help provide stability in the top order, while the return of Shai Hope is welcomed given his consistency in white ball cricket," said West Indies head coach Daren Sammy.

Guyana’s Kevlon Anderson, 23, has earned his maiden call-up following an impressive domestic season and may make his debut. Meanwhile, veteran pacer Kemar Roach, with 284 Test wickets, has been left out of the squad. Notably, fast bowler Shamar Joseph, who led the West Indies to a dramatic win in Brisbane last year, retains his place in the lineup. The second and third Tests will be held in St George's and Kingston, respectively.
