Telegram has rolled out a powerful new update packed with features aimed at enhancing user interaction, creator engagement, and content sharing. The June 2025 release introduces several standout changes, including direct messages to channels, voice message trimming, high-definition photo sharing, and an overhauled group topic layout.
DMs to Channels and Creator Monetization
One of the most anticipated features is the ability to send direct messages to Telegram channels. This allows users to privately engage with admins and channel owners without revealing their personal information. Designed with content creators in mind, this new interaction layer also lets creators monetize access by setting a fee per message—adding a new revenue stream within the app.
Trim Voice Messages Before Sending
Voice messages are now more polished with the ability to trim recordings before sending. Users can swipe up to lock recording and then trim the start or end for cleaner audio. Additionally, you can now resume a paused recording by tapping the microphone again—ideal for those who record in sections.
Group Topics Redesigned
Telegram has revamped how group topics are presented, introducing a new tab layout for smoother navigation. The update enables switching between a minimalist top-bar view and a more detailed sidebar view. Users can activate this by heading to Group Settings > Topics.
HD Photo Sharing and Media Tools
Users can now send photos in “High Definition” mode, offering four times the pixel density without exceeding 0.5MB per image. There’s also new support for sharing media directly to Telegram Stories from external apps using the iOS Share button.
More Updates: Polls and Saved Messages
Polls now support up to 12 response options, and users can save them to their Saved Messages list for later reference. This makes tracking opinions and survey responses even more seamless. With each update, Telegram continues to push the envelope in privacy, media control, and creator tools. Whether you're managing a community, broadcasting content, or simply sharing moments, these features make Telegram even more versatile.
