According to reports, Apple has paused development of the Air 2 due to weak sales and low market interest in its predecessor. The iPhone Air, designed as a lighter and more affordable variant, failed to capture consumer attention, prompting Apple to streamline its lineup. This marks a significant change from its usual four-model annual launch strategy.
Insiders reveal that production of the iPhone Air 2 has been halted by Foxconn and Luxshare, signaling Apple’s focus on optimizing its high-end models. The company’s next lineup will reportedly emphasize performance, AI-driven features, and refined aesthetics. The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models are rumored to feature a new transparent Ceramic Shield design near the MagSafe area, slimmer bezels, and potentially an under-display Face ID system for a cleaner display.
Apple’s next-generation iPhones are expected to run on the new A20 Pro chip built using TSMC’s 3nm process, focusing on efficiency, AI task management, and faster system communication. The company might introduce its in-house C2 modem, replacing Qualcomm’s chips, enabling faster 5G speeds and better energy management.
