AP Govt Fast-Tracks AI Revolution In Vizag With Google, TCS And Cognizant Investments

The Andhra Pradesh government is pushing forward with high-speed development to transform Vizag into one of India’s biggest AI and cloud-technology hubs. A major milestone in this journey is the AI-powered data centre project being led by Raiden Infotech, associated with Google, approved in October 2025. The initiative is expected to bring a massive USD 15 billion investment into the state over the coming years. Nearly 1 GW of data-centre capacity is planned across Vizag and Anakapalli, making this one of Google’s largest campuses outside the United States. The government has already earmarked nearly 400 acres of land for the project and directed APIIC to handle land allocation and development formalities.

To further support infrastructure demands, the state has allocated around 480 acres in Adavivaram, Mudasarlova, Tarluvada, and Rambilli to host support services such as a cable landing station and high-power connectivity. Government orders define the roles of APIIC, district authorities, and the ITE&C Department for land surveys, boundary marking, and timely handover. Under the Data Centre Policy 2024–29, incentives worth approximately ₹22,000 crore have been introduced to attract investment, generate employment, and expand high-end cloud and networking capacity.

While Google lays its foundations, TCS is preparing to begin operations on its 21.76-acre Vizag campus. The new facility, equipped with two office blocks, can accommodate nearly 1,500 employees and is expected to go operational soon. Meanwhile, Cognizant has been allocated around 22 acres near the Kommadi–Madhurawada belt at a minimal cost, with government land already prepared for project execution. A bhoomi puja is likely to be organised before construction begins. This project alone brings in an estimated ₹1,583 crore investment along with around 800 direct jobs, boosting local demand for housing, transport, and services.

With Google, TCS, and Cognizant entering the region together, Vizag is positioning itself as a fast-emerging powerhouse for AI, technology, and digital infrastructure in India. The state’s focus on rapid policy execution, land readiness, and incentives reflects the government’s intention to turn Vizag into a leading data infrastructure hub in South Asia. These developments signal strong growth prospects for skilled employment and technology-driven opportunities in Andhra Pradesh, marking a transformative leap for the region.
