The Tamil Nadu government has appointed K Venkata Narayana as its Special Representative in New Delhi for a period of one year. According to an official government order issued on Friday, the appointment is temporary and will be effective from the date he assumes office. The state government stated that the detailed terms and conditions of his role will be issued separately.
The appointment has attracted political attention and criticism due to Narayana’s professional association with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief C Joseph Vijay. Narayana is known for producing the upcoming film Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay and directed by H Vinoth, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander under KVN Productions.
Reports also highlight that Narayana had accompanied Vijay during a recent meeting with Governor RN Ravi’s successor, Governor RV Arlekar, in May when Vijay reportedly staked claim to form the government. His close association with the actor-politician has led to discussions around the appointment within political circles.
The government order clarifies that the post is temporary and will function as part of the state’s representation in the national capital, while further administrative details are expected to be released later.
