Nara Lokesh takes Andhra Pradesh investment pitch to Seoul
Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has taken the state’s investment outreach campaign to South Korea, holding discussions with business leaders and pitching Andhra Pradesh as a destination for new projects in technology, electronics, manufacturing and other major industrial sectors. Lokesh’s six-day official visit to South Korea, scheduled from July 5 to July 11, is focused on strengthening economic ties and attracting fresh investments to Andhra Pradesh. The visit includes meetings with Korean companies and business representatives as the state government looks to expand its global investor network. As part of the outreach, the delegation has been engaging with companies across different sectors and presenting Andhra Pradesh’s infrastructure, workforce availability and investment opportunities. Reports on the visit say the discussions have covered electronics, semiconductors, green energy and automobile manufacturing, among other areas.
Seoul roadshow puts Andhra Pradesh before Korean investors
A key part of Lokesh’s South Korea campaign is an investment-focused roadshow in Seoul. The programme is aimed at reaching a wider group of Korean businesses and presenting Andhra Pradesh’s industrial potential directly to investors and corporate decision-makers. The roadshow approach allows the state delegation to take its investment message beyond individual closed-door meetings. By engaging with multiple businesses through a common platform, the Andhra Pradesh team is seeking to highlight opportunities available across technology, electronics, manufacturing and emerging industries. The South Korea visit also builds on Andhra Pradesh’s attempt to deepen business ties with Korean companies and create a more direct channel for future investors. Lokesh has also launched the APEX-Korea Cell, an initiative intended to support communication with Korean businesses and facilitate investment engagement with the state.
Lokesh pitches AP as a destination for global industry
During his meetings in South Korea, Lokesh has been presenting Andhra Pradesh as a state ready to support large-scale industrial projects. The outreach focuses on business-friendly policies, infrastructure, skilled human resources and the state government’s willingness to work closely with investors. The minister has also referred to Andhra Pradesh’s experience with major Korean investment projects while making the case for further partnerships. In Seoul, he said the state was prepared to create more success stories involving Korean companies and expand cooperation across sectors. The current mission signals a broader strategy in which international investment outreach is being treated as a central part of Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth plans. Direct meetings, sector-specific discussions and investor roadshows are being used together to build relationships with companies that may be considering expansion into India.
Focus turns to investment commitments and job creation
The effectiveness of the South Korea campaign will ultimately depend on how many of the discussions move from initial interest to formal investment proposals and operational projects. For Andhra Pradesh, attracting companies in electronics, advanced manufacturing, renewable energy and other high-value sectors could support industrial expansion and employment generation.
The state already has experience with South Korean manufacturing investment, and recent projects involving Korean-linked companies have reinforced Andhra Pradesh’s effort to attract additional industry. For example, a Hwaseung footwear project reported in 2025 involved a proposed ₹898 crore investment in Andhra Pradesh and was expected to create thousands of direct jobs.
Lokesh’s Seoul roadshow adds another layer to that effort. Rather than limiting the visit to a series of company meetings, the broader investor engagement seeks to present Andhra Pradesh’s opportunities to multiple potential partners at once. As the South Korea tour continues, attention will now be on the concrete outcomes that emerge from these meetings. Investment announcements, memoranda of understanding and follow-up negotiations will determine whether the Seoul outreach translates into new factories, technology projects and employment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
