China has issued a strong response to recent actions taken by the United States in Venezuela, sharply criticizing what it described as unilateral behavior and calling for the immediate release of former Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro and his wife. Speaking during high-level talks in Beijing with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi voiced concerns about what he characterized as an increasingly volatile global environment. Without directly naming the United States, Wang said certain countries were acting as though they had the authority to judge and police the world, a role China firmly rejects. He warned that such actions undermine stability and weaken the foundations of the international system.
