Andhra Pradesh is quickly emerging as a major technology and data hub in India, with global giants like Google and Reliance investing heavily in the state. Following Google’s announcement of a Rs 87,000 crore mega data center, Reliance has now confirmed plans to establish a 1 GW AI-powered data center in Andhra Pradesh. The project will be powered by a 6 GWp solar energy initiative, reflecting a commitment to sustainable and green technology infrastructure.
At the ongoing investor summit in Vizag, Reliance signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government to build not only the AI data center but also a greenfield integrated food park in Kurnool and multiple compressed biogas hubs. These projects are part of Reliance’s existing $25 billion investment in the state across energy, digital, and retail sectors.
The addition of this 1 GW data center by Reliance, alongside Google’s 1 GW facility in Vizag, could make Andhra Pradesh home to two of the largest data centers in India. Such developments are expected to boost employment, attract further tech investments, and position Andhra Pradesh as a leading digital and green energy hub in the country.
With both global and domestic companies investing heavily, the state’s vision to become India’s data hub is gaining momentum. The combined scale of these projects also signals a new era for sustainable technology infrastructure in India, integrating AI capabilities with renewable energy solutions.
This surge in infrastructure not only strengthens Andhra Pradesh’s technology landscape but also opens up opportunities for startups, research, and innovation in AI, cloud computing, and clean energy. The state is rapidly becoming a hotspot for futuristic investments, aligning with India’s broader ambitions of digital transformation and green energy adoption.
