In India, Purnima begins at 9:08 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, and ends at 9:48 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026. Bhadra affects the earlier portion of Purnima, while Panchang listings for cities including New Delhi and Mysuru place the Rakhi ceremony on Friday morning after Bhadra has ended and before Purnima concludes.
This is why simply converting an India Rakhi muhurat into U.S. time is not the correct approach. Families living abroad should use the Panchang calculated for the location where the ceremony is being performed.
