Kriti Sanon is slated to portray the iconic actress, with Manish Malhotra making his directorial debut. According to a Mid-day report, Malhotra is meticulously revisiting the script to ensure accuracy, with multiple script doctors vetting the material.

The delay allows for thorough pre-production planning, crucial for authentically recreating the golden age of Hindi cinema. Costumes, a significant aspect of the period drama, will also be carefully crafted.
